Watch for our new column on Pharma coming up at the end of September!
This will be an exclusive monthly column by our esteemed contributor, Paul Tunnah.
Paul is the CEO and Founder of pharmaphorum media, which provides content and social media marketing and communications solutions for the pharmaceutical sector and also manages the industry leading channel, www.pharmaphorum.com, a digital podium for communicating thought leadership and innovation within pharma.
Prior to founding pharmaphorum media, Paul had a strong background in commercial pharmaceutical consulting, digital media and content marketing. He has written and produced numerous articles and reports / white papers during his career, is regarded as a key industry advisor on social media communication and has developed pharmaphorum media into a globally recognised industry brand, engaging with senior industry executives on key issues and connecting them with external thought leaders. He received both an MA in Biochemistry and DPhil in Biological Sciences from Oxford University.
In his column, Paul will explore the role of digital marketing in the pharma industry, and will focus specifically on the use of social media. He will cover topics including how pharmaceutical companies can use social media for direct engagement with specific stakeholder groups on disease area initiatives and for broader corporate reputation management, in addition to keeping a sharp eye out for the latest news relating to the subject, on which he will provide his own perspective.
I asked Paul for a brief commentary on his thoughts on the column and he expressed them to me by saying
“the pharmaceutical industry can no longer thrive without understanding how to communicate via social media, so the time is right to explore these exciting digital channels, demystify them and showcase how this sector can practically use them to connect and engage with other businesses, broader healthcare stakeholders, patients and the public.”
