A brain injury is an injury that causes damage to the brain, and it’s a common occurence in people of all ages, from young children to adult athletes. No one injury has the same effect on the brain, so that makes every brain injury unique. Some injuries range from a mild brain injury (MBI) to a traumatic brain injury (TBI), both of which can lead to disability and sometimes, even death.

Brain injury survivor Andrew Parrott almost lost his life because of a brain injury. In this video, Andrew and his mother discuss the severity of his brain injury and the help that they received from several LifeBridge Health brain injury programs. These programs include the coma stimulation program at Levinale, which helped him slowly regain his senses, and the rehabilitation program at Sinai, which provided physical, occupational and speech therapy services.
