Sinai Hospital and Operation Walk Maryland Bring Hope to Haitian Patient with Osteonecrosis
Here’s a heartwarming story just in the time for the holidays.
Thanks to Sinai Hospital and Operation Walk Maryland, a volunteer medical service organization that provides free surgical treatment for patients in developing countries and in the United States, 32-year-old Jimmy Morett was able to come from his native country of Haiti to have orthopedic surgery at Sinai Hospital for his osteonecrosis.
I could write to tell you more, but I think Ron Delanois, M.D., the surgeon who did his surgery, and Jimmy himself (as translated by his friend Petion) can describe it more eloquently.
The Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics is very involved in global mission work. Its doctors go all over the world to bring their expertise to those who don’t always have the opportunity to access the care we have here in the U.S.
