healthcare social mediaThe key to healthcare marketing success is building meaningful relationships. That’s why I like Twitter so much – for me it has been the best platform to build relationships. Of course it’s not enough to just create relevant relationships, it is essential that you maintain them. And this takes time.  One of the tools I use to manage my Twitter relationships is Commun.it. Commun.it analyses your followers on Twitter and segments them into lists which help you identify your high-value relationships. It also provides you with insights into who you should follow or unfollow.

How to set up your Commun.it account

To get started, simply enter your email address and choose a password on the sign-up page.

Social Media Is Bad for Relationships

On the next screen, you will get to choose your membership plan. You can manage one Twitter profile for free, or choose from higher-level plans (depending on the number of Twitter profiles you need to manage) starting at $29.99 per month with a 14-day risk-free trial.

Once you have chosen your plan, you can then connect your account with your Twitter profile. If you signed up for a Pro, Business or Corporate plan, you can add other Twitter profiles at this step.

You can also discover new people to connect with based on their healthcare interests and conversations.

Navigating The Commun.it Dashboard

1. Prioritized Feed

Prioritized Feed is your starting point in Commun.it. It showcases the most important and relevant members of your Twitter community.  If you only have a brief time to engage with your Twitter community, this should be the list of people you focus on.

2. High Value Members

This list allows you to see people in your Twitter community based on whether they are Influencers (determined by the followers-to-following ratio and your engagement history); Supporters (help spread the word about your business by retweeting your statuses and sharing links to your content); or Engaged Members (engage with you the most through mentions, retweets, direct messages and favoriting your updates).

3. Actions

In this section, you can see suggestions for people to follow or unfollow, based on the person’s engagement level, influence level, and relevance to you.

You can also see a list of the people who have most recently followed you and the people who have recently unfollowed you. When viewing the New Followers list, you will have the option to send a quick tweet to them to thank them for following.

When you hover over people in your feed, you will have the option to follow or unfollow them, add them to a group or hide them from the feed so you don’t see them anymore. You can also click on them in the list to see even more details and your engagement history with them.

If you have multiple people managing a Twitter profile, it can also help each person keep track of any engagement made by others on their team.

Activity Report

Visit the Reports section to run reports about your activity and engagement levels over a specified time period. Users on the free plan can run this report for the last three days of acitivity. Pro users can run reports for the last week, month or custom date range. You can use previous time periods to compare activity levels and determine whether your statistics are improving.

Engagement Report

Your Engagement Report will show you the statuses, reach and impressions made for items you are monitoring including your own username mentions, brand name mentions and websites. Beneath the statistics, you can see the top people who have mentioned or retweeted your monitored items, their basic stats and the tweets themselves.

How do you manage your community on Twitter? Have you any favorite tools which help you? Please share your recommendations in the comments below.
